LANDSCAPE PHOTO TOUR/WORKSHOP IN BUCOVINA , ROMANIA

Bucovina is a beautiful area resting in the north of Moldova is a destination with the Unesco World Heritage listed monaseries. Dating back to 15th or 16th century these colorful religious attractions gives amazing opportunities to photographers who are looking for dramatic scenes. Worship houses are decorated richly with colorful facedes.

Carpathian Mountains are world wide know natural beauty to those who has been in east europe and Bucovina with its history, traditions lies around these mountains. Bucovina is bursting at the seams with treats to tempt the curious photographers and travellers. Its quaint towns, charming rural views, medieval attractions and its traditional cuisine, Bucovina is getting more and more attention every year making it not only a Unesco Heritage site but also a great option for photographers like us who are after dramatic colorful scenes.

    Tuition includes :

    • Accommodation for 3 nights in shared double room. Single room occupancy is available upon request. Please ask for single-supplement cost.

    • International transport to workshop area
    • Transfers from/to airport to/from workshop location

    • Personal expenses like souvenirs, bar beverages, laundry, insurance (travel, medical, cancellation, which are all recommended)
  • PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT

    Except your camera, the below items are not mandatory but it is for your good and benefit if you consider them as a must. We strongly suggest to bring tripod for low light conditions and long exposure photos.

    • Digital SLR camera
    • Tripod (Preferably a stable one)
    • Neutral density graduated filters (if you have any)
    • A notebook or ipad for file transfers, photography reviews and for your own post processing
    • Hat, suitable shoes for trekking/walking & rainproof coat

    If you have one, it would be very useful to bring your notebook (or iPad, tablet) to transfer the photos you shoot during the day and help you to select your best shots for the image discussions we will have in the evenings. Also, in demonstrations of post processing you can benefit following the step by step presentations.

  • FITNESS LEVEL & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

    Moderate physical activities required. We will walking/trekking uneven terrain in the countryside. Its useful to have comfortable trekking shoes and wind jacket.

  • LANGUAGES OF THE WORKSHOP

    The major languages during the workshop will be English.

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM ASPECTS

Below are our responsible tourism aspects :

  • Ingredients used for cooking food is produced by the local farmers. Traditional recipes play an important role in cooking food. Of course the food is delicious since they are grown with traditional methods of farming.
  • We will be travelling in small groups and for short distances.
  • The pensions we are being accomodated are locals so we would be contirbuting to local economy and also experiencing the life of locals more indepth.

SORIN ONIŞOR- Workshop Leader

sorin-onisor-romanian-photographer-2In this great expedition we will be with Sorin Onişor, the award winning photographer who is much appreciated for his photographing skills and his passion for rural heritage conservation in Transylvania. He is currently doing a PhD on the topic “Traditional blacksmiths in Transylvania”, has studied photography for 3 years at the Folk Art College in Timisoara, and has a bachelor in history.

As a photographer, he had tens of personal photography exhibitions in Romania. As an author, he wrote 5 books about rural Transylvanian heritage. For several years now, Sorin is a free-lance photographer and organizes photography workshops in rural Transylvania, a place he knows like the back of his palm.
